About Banana Bag

Affordable IV treatments and wellness options for us average joes!

BEHIND THE BAG

The inspiration for Banana Bag reached founders Tayler Chapin and Stevie VanBiezen during a yoga retreat. The two found themselves lying on the beach in Mexico, nursing a nasty hangover wishing they could fast forward to feeling better, and BAM! It hit them— IV therapy.  With Tayler’s entrepreneurial spirit and Stevie’s nursing background, the idea to combine their talents to bring affordable IV therapy to the Magic Valley community was a no-brainer.

IV therapy is a fast and easy way to get your monthly vitamins without the hassle of remembering a daily handful of pills and tonics. Whether you’re nursing a hangover, looking to improve your athletic performance, or just a health-conscious person who wants to give your body what it needs, IV therapy is an incredible way to support your health!

THE DREAM TEAM

  • Stevie VanBiezen

    NURSE & FOUNDER

    Meet Stevie,

Stevie’s background in nursing is almost as colorful as she is, with experience in assisted living, hospice and gerontology, medical/surgical, and med spa. After years of nursing, Stevie found her passion in Critical Care, where she specializes in trauma/neuro ICU in Boise.

After spending time with patients at their lowest and most ill times, preventative health and wellness practices became more important to me. IV therapy was an obvious solution due to one simple concept– HYDRATION. Most people walk around tired and not feeling well due to one reason– their hydration status. Then add a poor, quick-fix American diet on top of that, and we find ourselves vitamin deficient, exhausted, and unmotivated to keep an active lifestyle.

IV therapy is a quick, easy way to improve your overall health.

I’m passionate about IV therapy. It is easy; who doesn’t love easy? It is quick; who doesn’t love quick? IV therapy is worth the investment to help people live longer and healthier lives. It can support your body against unwanted illnesses, colds, fatigue, and increase the length of your life, preventing chronic illnesses along the way.

  • Tayler Chapin

    Business & Marketing Manager

    Meet Tayler,

    Tayler Chapin is the visionary behind the brand. Her role at Banana Bag includes everything except poking people with needles. Probably best for all of us (;

Tayler enjoys designing and curating spaces for others, planning events, and bringing good vibes to the community. As the founder of Hive Hot Yoga, it’s safe to say that Tayler is doing great things for the Magic Valley!

I had so much fun with the process of building Hive. I enjoy the creative side of business, and I feel that Banana Bag is a natural extension of the yoga studio, branching out into another avenue of wellness.

I don’t believe there is anything like what we have planned for Banana Bag in Twin. Sure, some spas offer IV treatments, but we want to take it up a notch and create a space that is almost the opposite of a spa. We want it to be fun, different, and full of energy— a place where someone can get a Glow Up IV and engage (if they want) with a person who might have partied a little too hard the night before. Or it can be a space to put your earbuds in, connect to wifi, and trudge on through your work emails. Banana Bag really is for anyone interested in accessible wellness and good vibes.

HAVE QUESTIONS?

WE HAVE ANSWERS!

  • A banana bag contains IV fluids composed of electrolytes and B-complex vitamins that turn the mixture yellow (hence the name Banana Bag). A banana bag treatment can be a quick solution to the imbalance resulting from dehydration and both acute and chronic health conditions. A banana bag is also known as a rally pack, which is a bag of fluids that contains a combination of selected vitamins and minerals. The fluids are given to patients intravenously to correct nutritional deficiencies or chemical imbalances.

Here’s how it works: When your body is out of balance due to a vitamin and/or electrolyte deficiency, your health will suffer. The symptoms of a nutritional imbalance can include fatigue, heart arrhythmia, and muscle weakness. Banana bags correct this imbalance by providing the body with the right balance of vitamins and electrolytes— chemicals like sodium, magnesium, potassium, and calcium necessary for nerve and muscle performance and hydration, significantly improving your health.

  • When you take vitamins orally, they have to go through your digestive system to be broken down and then absorbed. By then, you only get about 20-30% of the actual dose. With IV nutrient therapy, you are guaranteed 100% direct absorption into the bloodstream, making the nutrients available immediately. You cannot reach this saturation level with oral vitamins, even when you pair oral vitamins with a healthy diet. Our soil is so nutrient depleted that it is almost impossible to get the proper level of nutrients we need from the foods we eat alone.

  • No major side effects are usually seen; however, people do experience some cooling of the arm and a mineral taste in the mouth. Do not worry, as this is all normal.

IV therapy and IM injection procedures come with minimal risk.

Examples: minor bruising around the puncture site of the IV catheter, inflammation, and bleeding upon removal of the IV catheter.

After your session, you can go about your day as you would normally. There are no restrictions.

  • Depending on your chosen bag, most will include all of the micronutrients needed for optimal cellular function.

Examples of ingredients include Vitamin C, and B Vitamins, Amino Acids, Minerals, and Glutathione.

Drips are all-natural and do not contain steroids, synthetics, placebos, or medicine of any kind. Most nutrients are preservative-free.

  • No, not at this time. We strive to provide our mobile IV services at a reasonable and affordable price while ensuring the highest level of quality and care.

  • It really depends on your lifestyle and the benefits you are seeking. However, it is something you need to be consistent with to maintain optimal health and well-being.

It also depends on how nutrient depleted you are when you get started. Everyone is different. In general, every 2 to 4 weeks is ideal. With that said, depending on lifestyle and the body’s demands will determine how often someone should undergo IV nutrient therapy. Someone who lives a moderate lifestyle with a day job and exercises a few times a week will benefit from IV nutrient therapy on a monthly basis. Athletes will require more frequent sessions (we recommend every 1-2 weeks) to keep up with increased nutrient demand and excretion through sweat. This is particularly important if athletes are training for a marathon or competition. It is always best to check with your practitioner for your individual needs.

  • Some chronic diseases may be contraindicated by additional fluid in the body. Please always discuss and report any changes in health or known medical diagnosis with Banana Bag Medical Providers. We are always here to answer questions and provide further clarification for each individual.

  • At this time, we treat individuals 18 years and older. For further questions, ask your Banana Bag medical professional.

  • Most people have come to accept that exhaustion as part of the norm. But it doesn’t have to be! Optimal nutrition can help significantly with energy levels and your sense of well-being. Many IV therapy users report feeling more energetic and having mental clarity right after treatment, if not the next day. Again, each person is unique, and depending on your personal nutrient levels and hydration status before your infusion, the effects may set in instantly, or it may take a few IV treatments before you start to notice the difference.

    Side Note:

Infusions with Glutathione initiate a “detox period,” which might make you feel a little tired. Once the detox is complete, you’ll feel more energized.
